ALOM CEO Hana Kain Named WBE Advocate of the Year by Women’s Business Enterprise National Council

Hannah Kain, President and CEO of ALOM, a global leader in supply chain management, was named the Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) Advocate of the Year by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) on the occasion of its 20th anniversary celebration at the 2017 WBENC Summit & Salute in New Orleans, LA.

“Women’s businesses represent the future of the economy. Nothing makes us at ALOM prouder than supporting women business owners because they elevate the prosperity of their families, their communities, and the nation,” Kain said in accepting the award. “ALOM’s strong supplier diversity program ensures that the company consistently includes women-owned businesses in the supply chain,” Kain continued.

“WBENC is pleased to honor Hannah Kain for her passionate and generous support of Women’s Business Enterprises. She is an outstanding role model of strategic and principled leadership,” said Pamela Prince-Eason, President and CEO of WBENC.  Founded in 1997, WBENC is the leading third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women, with over 13,000 WBENC-Certified WBEs.

Kain founded ALOM in the same year with a vision of enabling technology-rich corporations to focus on innovation by outsourcing key business functions from procurement through manufacturing and distribution.

Today, with locations across the US and around the globe, ALOM designs and delivers technology-driven, quality-focused supply chain solutions that overcome the complexities and risks of a competitive and disruptive marketplace. Using its own proprietary global order visibility technology, ALOM has pioneered ways for its Fortune 100 clients to achieve the on-time performance and quality assurance they need to impeccably serve their customers and uphold their brand reputations. ALOM achieved ISO 9000 Certification in its first year of business and became a WBENC-Certified WBE in 2002.

Kain has long been an advocate for women in the entrepreneurial, manufacturing and technology realms. She serves on the WBENC Board, on the WBENC Forum Leadership team, and was named a WBE Star, a national honor, in 2012. Kain also serves on the Board of the National Association of Manufacturers, the Advisory Council of the Heritage Bank of Commerce, and the Michael R. Clayman Institute for Gender Research at Stanford University. She is a member of the invitation-only Committee of 200 executive women.  She is the former Chair of the Silicon Valley Board for the Women’s Initiative.

Among her many awards, Kain was honored with the Women in Manufacturing STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Production) Award by The Manufacturing Institute in 2015. That year she also received the YWCA-Silicon Valley Tribute to Women Award. She has been inducted into the Silicon Valley Capitol Club wall of fame.
