ALOM Receives 2018 Supply & Demand Chain Executive Green Supply Chain Award

ALOM was selected for its development of a highly scalable supply chain order routing and inventory management solution for a fast-growing life sciences customer. ALOM created an innovative program designed to increase order fulfillment capacity and significantly reduce delivery distances and timeframes. The program performed exceptionally. ALOM exceeded record-setting order processing and delivery volumes for its customer while also meeting transportation reduction sustainability goals.

“Every supply chain challenge provides an opportunity to engineer innovative strategies for our customers and have a positive environmental impact. In this case, we faced a 4x order volume growth forecast and needed to scale rapidly while reducing delivery times. Our near-sourcing strategy included opening an Eastern region fulfillment facility in Indianapolis and implementing an order management system that routed incoming orders to the fulfillment center nearest the delivery location. The system performed perfectly! We increased order volumes dramatically while reducing delivery times and transportation-related environmental impacts,” said ALOM Chief Technology Officer Brandon Marugg.

The Green Award, now in its 11th year, recognizes companies that are making green or sustainability a core part of their supply chain strategy and working to achieve measurable sustainability goals within their own operations and supply chains.
