The annual event will take place March 22, 2012, before 1,000 corporate executives, WBEs and government and nonprofit officials at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront, Baltimore, MD.

ALOM is a global leader in supply chain management, serving as a partner to its Fortune 100 clients by expertly and seamlessly conducting their key business functions from manufacturing to marketing. Applying the strengths of a highly credentialed team of strategists, engineers and specialists, ALOM is able to deliver its clients’ products and services impeccably, enrich the customer experience and uphold their brand reputations.

“Hannah Kain is an extraordinary leader and strategic thinker whose business helps to advance the success of major U.S. companies and our economy,” said Pamela Prince-Eason, WBENC President and CEO, the leading advocate for and authority on WBEs as suppliers to the nation’s top corporations and government entities.

“We are proud to be honored by WBENC whose members include 250 of the most outstanding corporations in the U.S. and that certifies over 11,000 women’s businesses across the country,” Kain said.

Kain will be recognized for her leadership in the business community, her inspiration to other women business owners, and her active role at the helm of ALOM. The Astra Women’s Business Alliance selected ALOM for this national honor. It is one of WBENC’s 14 Regional Partner Organizations (RPOs) which process WBENC and WOSB world-class certification of WBEs, in addition to providing skill-building educational programs and business development opportunities with major corporations.

Diane L. McClelland, President of the Astra Women’s Business Alliance, said, “Hannah Kain is not only an excellent business person but also a role model for other women’s businesses. She has committed her time and passion towards the success of so many women in our region, and we are grateful for her contribution.”

Since founding ALOM in 1997, Kain’s unwavering focus on rigorously enforced and measured quality across the ALOM organization led to significant accomplishments from building its network of 15 shipping locations around the world to the completion of ISO certifications to include ISO 9000 for leadership and management practices and 13485 for medical devices and services. ALOM was named by the Diverse Manufacturing Supply Chain Alliance (DMSCA) as one of the first Suppliers to have attained its CMP Level One Performance Maturity Certification.

Hannah Kain has won numerous awards for her business leadership in Silicon Valley and the women’s business community, to include the Vistage International 2011 Member Leadership Award, the Astra 2011 Global Excellence Award, the Astra 2009 Excellence in Strategic Alliances Award, the 2009 Enterprising Women of the Year Award, the Silicon Valley Woman of Influence named by the Silicon Valley Business Journal, and a Woman of Distinction in Technology by the East Bay Business Times.
