Innovative industry executive named to first annual list of top female supply chain professionals

Hannah Kain, President and CEO of ALOM, a global leader in supply chain management, has been bestowed the Women in Supply Chain Award by Supply & Demand Chain Executive, a new recognition designed for women leaders in the supply chain industry in commemoration of SDCE’s 20-Year Anniversary.

The Women in Supply Chain Award honors female supply chain leaders and executives whose accomplishments, mentorship and examples set a foundation for women in all levels of a company’s supply chain network.

“When I started ALOM 23 years ago, a female supply chain CEO was quite unusual. I am proud to have served as a pioneer of sorts and honored to be included with this list of accomplished industry leaders. At ALOM, talented women lead our client success, account management, HR, and supply chain strategy organizations.  I am proud to receive this award on behalf of them, and all our colleagues, male and female who support our collective success,” Kain said.  With 19 locations around the world, including U.S. facilities in Silicon Valley and Indianapolis, ALOM manages the supply chain for F100s and breakout innovators across procurement, inventory management, contract assembly, digital media and print as well as eCommerce and omni-channel fulfillment.

Among the senior women upholding ALOM’s leadership are Fiona Lowbridge, VP of Client Success; Holly Tran, Director of Account Management; Lisa Dolan, VP of Supply Chain Strategy; Tami Strickland, Director of Sales, and Claire Mendonca, Director of Human Resources.  As a woman-owned company, ALOM’s values are centered on promoting diversity and opportunity for all staff members with an emphasis on mentoring and professional development.

Kain’s drive for quality and innovation has distinguished ALOM as a pioneer in technology-enabled supply chain solutions delivering real-time visibility and scalability for eCommerce, automated order processing, serialization, business intelligence and digital warehouse management.  Always at the forefront of economic and consumer/technology trends, she has implemented service and capacity growth initiatives including the construction of digital print and media duplication facilities and boldly increasing domestic production and inventory resources to mitigate the challenges of global trade uncertainty for ALOM’s clients.  Her focus on quality, security and privacy and environmental stewardship has led to ALOM receiving ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, TL 9000 and SOC2 certifications, expanding the ALOM footprint to five continents, and fostered many long-term business relationships.

She has been recognized for leadership in community, management and business, most recently being selected a Business Insider 100 People Transforming Business, receiving the 2019 WBEC-Pacific Pinnacle Award of Excellence, the 2019 NAWBO-Silicon Valley Lifetime Achievement Award, and named an SDCE Supply Chain Pro-to-Know (her 6th).  Under her leadership ALOM has been named a 2020 Top 100 Workplace by the Bay Area NewsGroup and received SDCE 100 Award for 2020, both for seven years in a row, and the 2019 SDCE Green Supply Chain Award, for the sixth consecutive year.

Ms. Kain has extensive international management experience, membership, and involvement in numerous governmental and educational agencies and business groups. She is a board member of the National Association of Manufacturers, and former two-term board member of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). She serves on the advisory council of Heritage Bank of Commerce and The Michelle R. Clayman Institute for Gender Research at Stanford University. She is a member of the exclusive invitation-only Committee of 200 for executive women.

Kain holds three university degrees (a B.S. in political science, an M.S. in communications, and an M.B.A. in marketing), is a frequent lecturer and is a published author of a popular textbook on market analysis, now in its 4th edition. She has also been featured in numerous books, such as CEO Chronicles and Scrappy Women in Business.

Supply & Demand Chain Executive received more than 300 entries for its newly launched Women in Supply Chain award. According to Gartner’s 2020 Women in Supply Chain Survey, 17% of chief supply chain officers are now women – a 6% increase compared to 2019, said SDCE Editor-in-Chief Marina Mayer.  SDCE covers the entire global supply chain that focuses on ROI, professional development and change management.

“This represents growth, evolution and community. And, that future shows that it’s a great time to be a part of the supply chain industry. So, congratulations to these top female leaders. I look forward to seeing what else you do to grow the supply chain industry,” Mayer said.
