ALOM CEO Hannah Kain Named “Woman Business Advocate of the Year” by NAWBO-Silicon Valley

Hannah Kain, President and CEO of ALOM, a global leader in supply chain management, was named “Women Business Advocate of the Year” by the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Silicon Valley.   The award was presented earlier this month at the annual Silicon Valley Business Journal “Women of Influence” event to honor leading women business owners and leaders at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, CA.

The award recognizes Kain’s committed and inspirational support to business-women, women in career transition, and women seeking advice to start their own business venture. For well over a decade Kain has been volunteering her time both as an active member and in leadership capacities to a wide range of non-profit women empowering organizations.

In presenting the award, NAWBO SV President Jennifer Dizon said, “Women embarking on their businesses need look no further than Hannah Kain as their role model in leading their companies and giving back to their communities.  The breadth of all that Hannah does to educate, mentor and empower women speaks to the full meaning of the Women Business Advocate of the Year Award.”

NAWBO-SV is the Silicon Valley chapter of NAWBO, a national organization supporting the growth and success of women business owners.

Kain has won numerous awards for her business leadership, including the 2012 Women’s Business Enterprise Star by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), and a 2009 Enterprising Women of the Year. She won the Astra 2011 Global Excellence Award and Astra 2009 Excellence in Strategic Alliances Award. She won the Vistage International 2011 Member Leadership Awards, for Collaboration, before the world’s leading CEO peer advisory membership organization.

ALOM has won the 2013 Silver Stevie Awards as the best global woman-owned company, and in prior years the Gold Stevie Award for Customer Service and another for Best Global Sales Team.

Kain was also recognized as a Silicon Valley Woman of Influence by the Silicon Valley Business Journal, and a Woman of Distinction in Technology by the East Bay Business Times.   She contributes columns for Smart Business Northern California.

She is a Board member of the National Association of Manufacturers, on the Advisory Council of the Global Supply Chain Leaders Group, former Chair of the Silicon Valley Board for the Women’s Initiative, and a Board member of Watermark. She is a member of the exclusive invitation-only Committee of 200 (C200) for executive women.
