ALOM Announces ISO 13485 Certification

ALOM Receives ISO 13485 Certification

ALOM today announced that the company had become ISO 13485 registered, a certification that demonstrates the company’s qualifications within the medical sector.

ALOM became ISO 9000 certified in 1998 almost immediately after its inception and has maintained this certification since then. The ISO 9000 certification is a more general quality standard that is given to companies with a compliant, controlled quality management system. Close to 30,000 US companies are ISO 9000 certified.

The ISO 13485 standard addresses specifically the medical sector and the medical device area. Much fewer companies achieve this registration.

“The medical sector continues to grow in our customer mix,” notes Hannah Kain, President & CEO of ALOM. “This certification will further allow us to cement and grow our strong position in that market, and we expect to see a significant interest as a consequence of our certification” Kain continues. The effort was spearheaded by a tiger-team headed by Michelle Remoaldo who is head of ALOM’s quality department.
