ALOM Shop Floor – Eric Schelm: Sustainable Packaging for Modern Supply Chains

Protecting fragile products and protecting the planet are no longer at odds. In this Shop Floor demo, VP of Operations Eric Schelm shows how replacing plastic bubble wrap with curbside-recyclable Geami paper to pack and ship delicate products safely and sustainably reduces waste, speeds packing, and creates a positive unboxing experience for end-users.

Transcript:
Okay, so another thing that we’re looking at is in regards to sustainability and where we have blast product for the customer that is fragile and can be damaged in transit. In the past, we used a bunch of bubble wrap and a couple of different cartons to secure that. Now we’re transitioning to what’s called a Geami wrap. And this is a curb, recyclable, friendly product that also provides great protection for the product. So basically, we take a bottle we then wrap it and then pull it off and then place it in the shipping carton. It’s faster than the old process. It’s curbside recyclable and is a better experience for the user as well. Safe and secure and ready to ship.
