ALOM has received the Corporate Mentoring Program (CMP) Level 2 certification from the Diverse Manufacturing Supply Chain Alliance (DMSCA). This certification states that ALOM follows the highest standard in supply chain process measurements and controls as practiced by leading corporations. The certification was awarded at the 2013 DMSCA Education & Training Conference in Delray Beach, Florida.
“We are proud to have achieved the CMP Level 2 certification which positions our company for peak performance and continued growth,” said Hannah Kain, President & CEO of ALOM. “Additionally, it was our honor to be benchmarked against the process management and measurement standards developed by DMSCA’s corporate leaders.”
“At a time when risk mitigation is a leading priority for major corporations, the DMSCA CMP certification assures corporations that their suppliers in its Corporate Mentoring Program adhere to the same level of process performance and measurement that larger corporations use to measure their supply chain performance. ALOM is an outstanding example of best practices in performance management and measurement and is positioned to achieve our highest level of recognition.” said David Burton, DMSCA President.
DMSCA corporate members include Johnson & Johnson, McCormick & Co. Inc., The Boeing Company and Starbucks Corporation, to name a few.
The CMP is a performance driven supplier development system that measures, aligns, and reengineers the supply chain processes. Its goal is to foster continuous improvement in a supplier’s performance in manufacturing and logistics, which in turn enhances the corporation’s supply chain.
As part of this certification process, ALOM will continue to be monitored and measured over the next 8-12 months to two years. At the end of that period, it will have attained the CMP Level 3 certification for “Processes Continuously Improved”. ALOM will be among the first to be recognized at this level.
“This certification is a journey rather than a destination, and ALOM is a leader among suppliers in challenging itself to continually mature,” Burton added.
CMP certification spans assessment, performance plan development and implementation, and measurement. It includes sharing Key Performance Indications (KPI) and other data via performance dashboards.
ALOM had achieved CMP Level 1 certification level less than one year ago.
DMSCA is a non-profit organization with the mission of developing, creating, and retaining a value-added manufacturing and logistical supplier base capable of competitively performing in strategically sourced global supply chains.
“We engage our corporations at the sourcing and procurement levels, as well as the supplier diversity,” Burton said. “This provides a bridge for supply chain metrics and ensures that our best practices benefit all these decision makers at the corporation.”
